Firstly, if we are taking about 'ancestral' rights to the land then what about Arabs' ancestral rights! For the better part of the last 14 centuries, Palestine has mainly been inhabited by Arab Muslims. Moreover, if we are willing to give 'ancestral land rights' then why can’t Muslims claim their rights to the Iberian Peninsula!? After all, they ruled the region and inhabited it for almost eight centuries. As far as the 'West' is concerned, the case of indigenous Americans(Indians) speaks volumes!

Coming to demands, you have said it yourself, if an entity loses a land, he is not entitled to get its control back. Jews were expelled from the Jerusalem in the first century CE and didn’t take back land through force. Rather, they were given the chance of immigration to Palestine after the first World War. Once immigrated, they started engulfing lands of others, through power, illegal settlements, etc. So, how come they are entitled to get back their lands, but not the Muslims!

As far as the Jerusalem is concerned, let’s take another look at it. For the sake of argument, Jerusalem goes to Israel. Both Western and Eastern part. Will Israeli state provide Muslims and Christians fair opportunities to visit their holy places, while protecting their sanctity? I doubt. On the other hand, when Muslims captured Jerusalem in the 7th century, they agreed to allow Jews to visit their holy places and during Ottoman Era, they were provided even more privileges. Contrarily, it was the Crusaders who expelled and massacred Muslims and Jews alike as soon as they took control of the city.

Lastly, I agree that severe human rights violations are happening in the Middle East. However, that's not aparthied. Also, the issues of other ME countries don’t mean that one shouldn’t be condemning the oppressors in Palestine. It’s same as saying 'All Lives Matter' when one should be saying 'Black Lives Matter’.
